Kimberly Miranda has worked for the California State Legislature since 2017. As a Senior District Representative and Policy Advisor for Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia, she serves as the liaison between constituents and the member with the purpose of learning about the issues affecting the community, which may be resolved or bettered by the passing or amending of legislation; manages casework; and coordinates outreach efforts. Her policy areas of concentration include economic development, veteran affairs, sports and tourism, transportation, tribal governance, public safety, and youth engagement.
Her leadership extends beyond her official role. She has been a prominent figure in local politics, serving as chair of the Riverside County Young Democrats and as the Pacific Region Director for the Young Democrats of America’s Hispanic/Latinx Caucus. Her experience includes roles on the City of Coachella’s Planning Commission and the board of the Democratic Women of the Desert, along with consulting for numerous local and statewide campaigns. She is a founding member and treasurer of the Coachella Valley Young Democrats and is actively involved in The Network: Young Professionals Del Desierto - a group of dedicated to connecting and empowering young professionals from all sectors in the Coachella Valley seeking personal development, to expand their professional networks, and to be a resource to others in the community.
Kimberly grew up in the Eastern Coachella Valley and has called the City of Coachella home for the past 16 years. She is the proud daughter of an Army Veteran and granddaughter of farmworkers. She holds an associate’s degree in Economics from College of the Desert and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from the University of California, Riverside.
